Anuradha Paudwal is one of the talented female singers in India. She is the winner of four Filmfare awards as Best playback singer. The singer who has started her singing career as a playback singer with the film 'Abhimaan' has now stopped singing for films. Currently she keeps herself busy with devotional and cover versions albums.

As a student in Xavier college, Anuradha was used to participate in college cultural programs. She began her singing career with the film Abhimaan starring Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. A big break came her way with the film Kalicharan in 1976. While she sung her first solo song in film Aap Beeti starring Shashi Kapoor and Hema Malini. Throughout her career she worked with biggest music directors of industry like Laxmikant-Pyarelal, Kalyanji-Anandji, Rajesh Roshan and Usha Khanna.

Singer Anuradha married Arun Paudwal, who was working as a music arranger to S. D. Burman. Arun later formed a team with Anil as musician and the duo along with Anuradha Paudwal had given many hits in Marathi films. Her Marathi popular songs includes 'Raja Lalkaari Aashi Ghe', 'Disate Majla' from Ashtavinayak, 'Kaalya Maatit Maatit Tifan Chalate' and many more.

Anuradha Paudwal came as a biggest name when she sang some exceptional numbers in the film Hero (1983). For the film she sang songs- Ding Dong, Tu Mera Hero and a duet Pyar Karnewale with Lata Mangeshkar. Music for the film was given by the renowned music directors Laxmikant and Pyarelal.

Yet she was the most controversial artist as well. She caught into controversy due to her comments for legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar and Mangeshkar sisters. She challenged Lataji's claim of recording maximum number of songs in one day. Her outspoken nature affected her career. Many music directors avoided her due to such controversy. Also Lataji dubbed many songs of Anuradha.

As her career was not making good, she joined Gulshan Kumar, who was the T-Series producer. Anuradha's career again rocketed with the films like Tejab, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, Ashiqui and Lal Dupatta Malmal Ka. Anuradha Paudwal won her first Filmfare Award for the song 'Mere Mann Bajaa Mirang' from film Utsav. She also had received three more Filmfare Awards for films- Aashiqui, Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin and Beta.

When she was on her peak, she decided to work only for T-Series, which really harmed her on going rocking career. Her decision helped other female singers like Alka Yagnik, Kavita Krishnamurthy and Sadhana Sargam to establish their career.

Later she stopped singing for Bollywood films and started singing devotional songs. Also after murder of Gulshan Kumar, her association with T-Series seemed to be decreased. Later she started working for other production companies than T-Series. Her association with other companies gave hits like 'Zara Aankhon Se Kajal' (Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehtein Hai), 'Akeli Hai Yeh Mis Khiladi' (Mr & Mrs Khiladi), 'Kismat Se Tum'(Pukar), and 'Chaha Hai Tujhko' (Mann).
