Divya Om Prakash Bharti was born to 25 February 1974 in Mumbai. She was daughter of Om Prakash Bharati and Meeta Bharati. Kunal Bharati was her younger brother. She got married with Sajid Nadiadwala, film producer and director in 1992. Because of her family problem she married secretly.
Kirti Kumar who was director and brother of film actor Govinda chooses her for his film "Radha Ka Sangam" opposite with Govinda. But due to some problem film was turned down. When she was 16 years old she made her first film "Bobbili Raja" in 1990 which was in Tamil. The remake of this film was "Rampur Ka Raja" in Hindi. Divya made other Telugu films such as Dharma Kshetram, Tholi Mudhu, Rowdy Alludu and Assembly Rowdy with the actors Balakrishna, Prashaanth, Chiranjeevi and the actor Mohan Babu.
In 1992, she moved towards Bollywood film industries. She made her first film in Hindi was "Vishwatma" released in 1992. This film was not hit at the box office but she was hit after that film. Her co-star was Sunny Deol. Some of Divya's memorable films were "Deewana with Rishi Kapoor and Shahrukh Khan", "Dil Ashana Hai with Shahrukh Khan" and film "Shola Aur Shabnam with the co-star Govinda". She worked with many top Heroes like Jackie Shroff, Sunny Deol, Rishi Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Govinda, Sunil Shetty and Shahrukh Khan.
Her death was on the year 5th April 1993 when she was only 19 years old. Her death was very tragically when her career was on the top. 500 peoples presented funeral of Divya's silver screen with Govinda, Anil Kapoor, Kamal Sadanah, Yash Chopra, Raj Babbar, Jimmy Nirula, Mukesh Duggal, Sudhakar Bokade, Raza Murad, Venkatesh, Vikas Anand, Ram Mohan, Raj Kanwar, Javed Khan, Nitin Manmohan and the Pehlaj Nehlani.
Her last films were Rang and Shatranj, which were released after Divya's death. Her husband Sajid Nadiadwala produced some films and dedicated to Divya's memory. She also meant to do films such as Laadla, Mohra, Andolan , Kartavya and Angrakshak.
