Madhuri Dixit was born on 15th May 1967 in Mumbai. Her father is Shankar Dixit and Mother is Snehalata Dixit. She is a chitpawan Brahmin. She wanted to be microbiologist and took admission into Parle College. She is trained in Kathak.
Maduri Dixit did his first film Abodh in the year 1984. At the starting she was did many supporting roles. Some of his hit films were Tezaab released in 1988, Ram Lakhan in 1989, Parinda in 1989, Tridev in 1989, Kishen Kanhaiya in 1990, Dil in 1990, Saajan in 1991, Beta in 1992 and Khalnayak released in 1993. From the film Tezaab she was in focus. In this film she performed with Anil Kapoor. Her most hit film was "Hum Aapke Hain Kaun!" which was released in 1994 and co-stars are Salaman Khan, Renuka Shahane, Anupam Kher and Reema Laagu. Film "Raja" released in 1995 also becomes hit and co-star was Sanjay Kapoor.
After some years she appeared in the film "Dil To Pagal Hai" released in 1997. In this film she performed with Shaharukh Khan and Karishma Kapoor. For this film she won 4th Filmfare Award for the best actress. In the same year she performed "Mrityudand" directed by Prakash Jha.
Because of her dancing skill many songs were famous. Some of them were Ek Do Teen from the film Tezaab, Badaa Dukh Diyaa from film Ram Lakhan, Dhak Dhak karane lagaa from the film Beta, Chane Ke Kheth Mein from film Anjaam, Choli Ke Pichche from film Khalnayak, Key Sera from the film Pukar and Mar dalaa from the film Devdas, and many more.
She performed film "Devadas" in the year 2002 with co-stars Aishwarya Rai and Shaharukh Khan. Her role from that movie was very hit and won Filmfare Award for supporting actress. After six years she performed on stage of Filmfare Award. She performed dance choreographed by Saroj Khan. Most of her dances were choreographed by Saroj Khan.
Famous painter M.F.Hussain made film on Madhri named as "Gajgaamini" released in 2000. In this film Madhuri was looking in various forms such as think of kalidaas, Mona Lisa of Da Vinci etc. Her comeback is in film industry with the film "Aaja Nachale" which is released in the film 2007.
She got married with Dr. Sriram Madhav Nene in the year 1999. Sriram is a surgeon working in Devnar. Madhuri has two children Arin born on March 2003 and Ryan in 8th March 2005. She has two sisters Rupa and Bharati and one brother Ajit Dixit. Now a day she is living with her husband and her children.
