Mahima Chaudhry was born on 13 September 1973 in Delhi (India). She completed her schooling from Loretto (Darjeeling). Previously she dated with the actor Dino Morea and tennis superstar Leander Paes. The relation was ended with Leander Paes because of faithlessness.

She then got married with famous Mumbai Architect Bobby Mukherjee. This marriage is Bobby Mukherjee's second marriage and he has two childrens from first wife. Both of them have one daughter named Aryana which is born in 10 June 2007.

Mahima did modeling before becoming an actress of Bollywood. She also hosted television shows on the public demand. Her first film in the Bollywood was "Pardes" released in 1997. In this film she played role of Ganga and performed with Shahrukh Khan and Apoorva Agnihotri. Subhash Ghai selected her for the film "Pardes" from 3000 candidates. Subhash Ghai launched career of famous actresses Madhuri Dixit and Manisha koirala.
