In the house of musicians on 21 Sept 1926 baby was born named as Allah Wasai. The family of her was very poor. She had 6 brothers. Her mother (named as Fateh Bibi) and father (named as Madad Ali) were professional in music performed / worked for one of the local company, in the local theatre and in the fairs. Noor Jahan was very young in her family.

From the childhood she was having voice of singing. Her talent was identified by her mother and they came to Lahore. In Lahore her mother arranged singing and dancing classes for her. She do the riyaaz upto twelve hours per day. She also took the lessons of thumari, dhrupada and khayaal.

In the hopes of getting break into films, family of Noor Jahan came to Culcutta but this did't happen. Then they moved to Mumbai. In mumbai she acted in elevan silent films. She had joined Kohinoor United Artist and Seven United Artist and worked in their pictures. Noor Jahan with her sister then moved to Lahor and participated into live dances and songs program. She got the Baby Noor Jehan as a stage name.

In the 1935-41 Noor Jehan changed her role from Baby Noor Jehan to young women with acting, dancing and singing career. In the late 1942 she was played a role of heroine in Khaandaan which is urdu picture. In the first film she played a role of heroine opposite the actor Praan as hero. Syed Shaukat Husain Rizavi was director of this film. Songs from this film became very popular and she became a leading singer. The year 1945 was turning poimt for Noor Jehan. Super hit song Aawaaz De Kahaa Hai from the film Anamol Ghadi was very preferred song of Nooe Jehan. Whenever she performed on stage, she must sang this song in Pakistan.

In year 1946, she acted in the film Anamol Ghadi. Super hit songs from this film was given by Naushaad. During this year she acted in other three films. Noor Jehan started with the leading star Dilip Kumar. Music of the film was given by Mohammad Rafi. In the indian movies she sang 125-130 songs. From the year 1932-47 talking movies are 69 and silent films are 12. In 1947 Noor Jehan decided to move to Pakistan because of partition of India. But during that period she was on top in acting and singing. In pakistan she again started her career in acting and singing.

Last days of Noor Jehan were very painful. She was suffering from heart problem. She was taking treatment in Karaachi. On 23 dec 2000 afternoon, she was died due to heart failure. Noor Jehan's Songs
