Parthiv Gohil is renowned classical singer. Parthiv is best known for his live performances and stage shows. He was runner up of TVS Sa Re Ga Ma contest. At the very early age of fourteen, Parthiv won the Pandit Omkarnath Thakur Competition. He also won the state talent search competition. He has been always experimental with his music. Parthiv is best known for his Fusion music. Gohil also has formed his band called 'Aakruti', which is one of the finest emerging bands in industry today. He had recently sung for an ace director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Saawariya'. His song 'Yuun Shabnami' from the film is running top on the charts.

Parthiv Gohil was born on 18th Feb, 1976 in Bhavnagar, Gujarat. Although he didn't born in a musical family, his father and grandpa both were very passionate about music. Both of then were businessmen, but still they had interest in music. They are used to attend the concerts of music maestros. Even Parthiv's father used to switch to the classical channel on radio and puts it in front of Parthiv, hoping that his son may develop his interest in music. This is how Parthiv introduced to music.

Along with Hindustani classical music, Parthiv was always fascinated by western music. He was always wondered to know how the music sounds different with jazz, pop and symphony. He used to listen the western music on his walkman. He often tries to figure out how the seven notes of music sound different with its different arrangements.

Parthiv started taking formal training in classical music at the age of 10. His gurus (teachers) were Smt. Dakshaben Mehta, Smt. Bhanuben Solanki, and Shri Laxmipati Shukla, a disciple of Pandit Omkarnath Thakur.

Later he won the Gurukul scholarship from SPIC MACAY. According to the scholarship he was chosen to be trained by Zia-Farid-Ud-Din Daagar. Daagar is a descendent of the legend Tansen. Under the SPIC MACAY scholarship scheme he was also trained by the renowned music maestros like Ustad Sultan Khan, Gundecha Brothers, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia and Shri V G Jog.

Parthiv also turned out as runner up for Zee TV's famous singing show TVS Sa Re Ga Ma. He was selected as runner up by the judges like Pt. Jasraj, O P Nayyar, Parveen Sultana, Kalyanji Anandji, Rajkumariji, Anil Biswas, and Jagjit Singh. After receiving an acclaim as a good singer, Parthiv also tried his hand in hosting. He had hosted Alpha Gujarati's singing program Sa Re Ga Ma.

Parthiv also had backed his vocals for Bollywood films like Devdas (2002), Rishtey (2002), Jina Sirf Mere Liye (2002), Dum (2003) and recently for Saawariya (2007).
