Sadhana was born on 2nd September 1941 in Karachi. At the staring of her career, she performed as a chorus. In film "Shree 420" she performed as a chorus girl. Her first film as a leading character was "Abana" released in 1958. Film was in Sindhi language. Her first Hindi film in which she played leading role was "Love in Simala" released in 1960. This film was directed by R.K.Nayyar and she performed opposite with Joy Mukherjee. At the time of shooting of this film both of them (R.K.Nayyar and Sadhana) fell in love and got married in the year 1966.
Sadhana's hair style was very famous as like Audrey Hepburn and this style was suggested by R.K.Nayyar. Her hair style was then famous as a "Sadhana cut".
From the film "Mere Mehboob" released in 1963, she becomes famous. In this film she performed opposite with Rajendra Kumar. During her career, "Who Kaun Thi?" in 1964 was very memorable film directed by Raj Khosla. For this film she got first Filmfare nomination for Best Actress. After this big hit film Raj Khosala cast her in two more films named "Mera Saaya" released in 1966 and "Anita" in 1967. She got second Filmfare Nomination for film "Waqt" in 1965.
Sadhana had thyroid problem and that problem affected on her eyes. During that time she did three films "Inteqaam" in 1969, "Ek Phool Do Mali" in 1969 and the film "Geeta Mera Naam" released in the year 1974. She then moved to Bosten for eye treatment and when she came back, she looses many offers. After the film "Geeta Mera Naam" she stops acting because she wanted that her fans remember her as a beautiful young lady. Her husband was died after 20 years of marriage and now days she living alone.
