Sonu Nigam is the most talented and versatile singer present today in India. Sonu had sung hundreds of song in numerous films. He is two time Filmfare Award winner and also one time National award winner. Sonu Nigam is big icon in India. For lot of aspiring singers in India he is the inspiration. Along with successful playback singing, Sonu has many pop album hits on his credit. He is also labeled as the golden boy of pop.

Sonu Nigam born on 30th July, 1973 in Faridabad, Haryana. His family moved to Delhi when he was very young. His father was also a singer. Sonu started singing at the age of four. Sonu once had fight with his father that he will also sing a song where his father was also supposed to sing. He performed one of the Mohammad Rafi's hit songs there. It was his first stage performance which earned him a lot of praise. Sonu's mother was also a singer. He has two younger sisters.

At the age of 17, Sonu moved to Mumbai to pursue career in singing. Sonu is a big fan of legendary singer Mohammad Rafi. He was used to sing songs of Rafi as teenager. Sonu started his career by singing cover versions of Rafisaab. Sonu Nigam made his debut as playback singer with the film Bewafa Sanam in 1994. He had sung the song 'Achcha Sila Diya Tune' for the film. The song went on to become a hit. At the same time, he also hosted Zee TV's singing competition show Sa Re Ga Ma. The show becomes so popular later that its series still running on the channel.

Since then Sonu had delivered number of hits in Hindi films like 'Yeh Dil Deewana' from Pardes (1997), 'Sandese Aate Hain' from Border (1997), 'Satrangi Re' from Dil Se (1998), 'Zindagi Maut Na Ban Jaaye' from Sarfarosh (1999), 'Panchhi Nadiyan' from Refugee (2000) and so on.

Sonu won millions of hearts with his soothing, melodious and versatile voice. He has huge fan following in India as well as overseas. Undoubtedly, he is the best and most popular singer present today in India. Whether it's romantic, fun song or even a Punjabi song, he is the first choice for many music directors.

He is in the film industry since last 12 years and still he is mesmerizing audience with his songs in films like Lage Raho Munnabhai (2006), Salaam-E-Ishq (2006), Fanaa (2006), Krrish (2006), Dhoom 2 (2006), Ta Ra Rum Pum (2007), Apne, Partner (2007), and Om Shanti Om (2007).

He has not only had good record with Bollywood playback singing but Sonu also has series of private pop albums hits. His non-film albums includes 'Deewana', 'Jaan', 'Mausam', 'Sapnay Ki Baat', 'Kismat', 'Yaad' and the latest 'Chanda Ki Doli'.

Sonu also had tried his hand in acting. He appeared as a lead actor in films like Love in Nepal (2004), Kaash Aap Hamare Hote (2003), and Jaani Dushman (2002). But his films didn't work well like his singing.

Sonu Nigam recently appeared as a judge on Zee TV's singing competition show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li'l Champs (2007) along with another judge Suresh Wadekar.
